Help your nervous system feel safe and enable yourself to take the first steps to starting your next creative endeavour!
Procrastination
Do you have big creative dreams? Does procrastination ever stop you from picking up your pencil, making prototypes, finishing projects, and sharing your art with the world?
Artist, it’s normal to procrastinate, however we need your creativity! Join Callen in exploring ways of overcoming resistance and start making more art.
Turn Your Creative Interest into a Workshop
Are you interested in sharing your creative skills with a wider community?
Do you want to include your art practice in your stream of income?
I want to walk you through what I’ve learnt as a lifelong creative who has turned her interests into workshops and classes. I’ve taught private parties, at after school education centers, freelance workshops, and out of my in home studio.
The path is going to be unique for each person, however I’ve found some clues as to what works, so let’s dive in!
What Type of Artist Are You?
I was listening to an episode of the podcast “Unpublished” with Amie Mcnee and James Winestock where Amie had created artist archetypes. I love archetypes and personality quizzes, and throw into the mix life as a creative… I was all in. For some time now I’ve wanted to create my own archetype system, and listening to this podcast gave me the nudge I needed to just do it!
Saying Yes to All Your Creative Selves
Part of why I’ve struggled for so long to accept myself as a working multidisciplinary artist is that I’ve felt;
1. I need to niche to become “successful” ie get big/rich/famous/survive the insanity of the world
2. There is something wrong with me/ I lack focus and determination
3. I have difficulty finishing projects and bringing them out into the world. If I only did one thing this would magically be easier
I kept circling around this idea for so long, coming back to this block time and again. It was only recently that I realized what these other underlying stories are that I’ve begun to move away from this narrative.
